Vanora of Cree

Vanora was born to a small nomadic tribe in the Eldeen Reaches, which was formed after the Karrnath bandits invaded their land. The villagers joined together to fight off the invader's, but they had lost everything, forcing her people to wander in search of a new home. They were largely nomadic, but some time after the battle in 956, her people had taken partial residence in the town of Cree, assisting the small town during harvest times and planting in exchange for coin and goods. A valued member of her tribe, Vanora was well versed in hunting/gathering with her father once it had been discovered she was stronger, heartier than most boys even older than her. While staying in Cree, a young man from the House of Vadalis fell for her enchanting flute and warm smile.

He was the third son of a minor lord, and being the daughter of the tribes chief, it was a fair match. She was then sponsored and sent to Varna to receive a proper education. After some time, she returned to find her family has been the victims of the Children of Winter. Their attempts to cleanse the land by unleashing plagues and blights upon people. Their corpses burned and buried by the people of Cree to prevent the spread, she had nothing. Shunned, he sponsor ship dissolved, and the people fearful of the Children of Winter returning to the village, she was no longer welcome. She was 14 at the time. She fled to the outskirts of civilization, and fended for herself, retreating into depression. An older couple spotted her, and kindly took her to their home, where they, their son, and Vanora happily lived. Vanora and the young man fell in love and married not soon after her 18th birthday. However, she gave birth to a hideous demon child. The man and the older couple took the child and left her, still covered in sweat and blood from labor, to die. Able to will herself to stand, she felt a strength she did not know she had and was able to regain her strength enough to make a long journey to Greenheart. There, the druids nursed her back to strength and told her the chilling truths of the Rakashaas and the Lords of Dust. Vanora then vowed to seek out the Dragons from Argonessan, join the Chamber, and get revenge on the Lords of Dust. And possibly, recover the demon child she still calls her own. She wandered, searching for clues, gaining strength on the way. Lacking in direction, she had decided to visit Sarn, where she heard a job was available. A chance to gather more information in the prosperous trading town, and perhaps a clue.
